For fingerprint and face machines — eSSL, ZKTeco, Realtime, Identix and others that have a Cloud Server or ADMS setting. No computer is needed: the machine sends every punch to Zorik by itself.
You need
The machine, switched on, and its admin password if one was set.
A LAN cable from the machine to the router that has the internet.
The serial number — printed on a sticker on the back or the bottom (also in Menu → System Info → Device Info). It looks like CQUJ203860123.
The Zorik plan that carries biometric attendance, and the owner's login on zorik.in.

Choose Biometric machine in Zorik
On zorik.in, open Attendance → Attendance Settings. In block 1, How staff are marked, choose Biometric machine. Only one way works at a time — the geofence on phones and face at the gate stop marking once the machine is chosen.
If children will punch too, choose By biometric machine, the same as staff under Students.

Make the campus and the shifts (once)
Block 2 — Campuses: one is enough for one building ("Main Campus"). With more branches, add each one; every staff member is put on their campus on Staff — Campus & Shift.
Block 3 — Shifts and the rules of a day: the in and out time, Full Day and Half Day, and the late rules. These are the same rules the face and the geofence use — set once.

Add the machine in Zorik
In block 4, Biometric machine — setup, type a name ("Main gate"), the serial number, the brand if you like, and choose its campus. Press Add machine. It shows as Not connected yet — that is right for now.

Join the machine to the internet
Plug the LAN cable into the machine and the router. On the machine: Menu → Comm. → Ethernet (some say Network) and switch DHCP on, so the router gives it an address by itself.

DHCP on. If your router needs fixed addresses, ask the person who set it up for a free IP, its gateway and DNS 8.8.8.8.

Point the machine at Zorik
On the machine: Menu → Comm. → Cloud Server Setting. On some machines it is called ADMS, Web Server or Push. Fill it in exactly like this:

Save, and restart the machine if it asks. Within a minute, Zorik shows the machine as ● Connected.

Send your people to the machine
Back in Zorik, block 4: press Send staff (and Send students if children punch). Each person gets a machine ID and their name goes to the machine. With more than one campus, staff go only to the machines of their own campus.
Press Machine IDs to see — and print — who has which number.

Take each finger or face on the machine
On the machine: Menu → User Mgt. → All Users, open the person (their name is already there, sent by Zorik) → Edit → Fingerprint (press the same finger three times) or Face. Done once per person.

Never add a person on the machine by hand — their punches would not reach anybody in Zorik.

Every day
Staff: the first punch of the day is the arrival, the last is the leaving. Their shift decides Full Day, Half Day and late, and a late fine lands on the salary.
Students: present on the first punch; the day shows in the class register.
Somebody who leaves (staff) or takes a TC (student) is taken off the machine by itself.
If something is not right
It stays "Not connected yet". Check the cable lights blink; check DHCP gave an address (not 0.0.0.0); check Server Address is exactly zorik.in, port 80, HTTPS off. The machine must reach the internet — a router with no internet cannot help. Ask whoever runs your website server to let /iclock/ through on plain http (port 80).
Connected, but punches do not show. Zorik counts punches only when Biometric machine is the way chosen in Attendance Settings. Check the person was sent from Zorik (they appear under Machine IDs) and the machine's date and time are India's.
"Punches from a machine ID nobody has". Somebody was added on the machine by hand. Delete them on the machine, press Send staff in Zorik, and take their finger again against the ID Zorik gave.
The internet was down for some days. On the machine: Menu → USB / Pen Drive → Download Attendance. In Zorik, block 4 → Punches from a pen drive → choose that file (for example 1_attlog.dat). A punch already in is never counted twice.
The machine has no Cloud Server / ADMS setting at all. Some older machines only talk on the office network. Tell Zorik support the brand and model — those need a small program on a computer, and until then the pen drive brings the punches in.
